And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7

If you have a child with special needs, we would love to partner with you in ministering to your child. Please talk to a staff member or contact us for more information.

Preschool to High School

Our ministries to reach the next generation include children and students ages 0-18, preschool through high school. In all these ministries, we have the same mission: to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ by encouraging and equipping saints to edify one another and to evangelize the lost. Because we believe that Scripture is clear that parents are the primary disciple-makers in the lives of their children, our hope is to partner with parents in their pursuit of this mission, coming alongside them in the discipleship process. We do this in many ways, but especially through the various resources that we choose to help build a strong, gospel-centered foundation for their kids.

At UBC, it is our earnest desire that all children and young adults who pass through our doors may hear about and set their hope in God. We are aware of the many challenges children face in our culture—with tragedy, advantage, loss and affluence. Our desire is that through the ups and downs of their lives, their souls would discover the rest found only with knowing and honoring their Creator and King. We long for them to learn to extend this hope to others. The words of Psalm 78 drive our hearts as we seek to equip families and children to love and serve God.

We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.

Family Discipleship

God calls the family to play a vital role in discipling the next generation. How this is accomplished varies from family to family and is as unique as the DNA of each home. Family discipleship isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it isn’t easy—even the most intentional of Christian parents may find themselves at a loss as to how to begin. We want to come alongside parents to help them craft their own approach to family discipleship. Though each family is unique, we believe that vibrant family discipleship can take shape through a framework of time, moments and milestones.

Because of increasing concerns regarding child abuse and victimization in the church, all members who participate in the care of your children and students are required to undergo a background check and ChildSafe training before being allowed to serve in this way. We respect the level of trust you show us by allowing us to partner with you in the care of your children and we desire to be faithful with that trust.

We do not baptize infants at UBC, however, we do believe that having a special time set aside to bless and dedicate your child is honoring to the Lord. If you are interested in dedicating your baby or child in a special part of our service, please contact us.

Preschool (Birth-5)

Sunday Morning Nursery (Birth-2)

We offer childcare all morning for children from birth through age 2. 3-5 year olds attend their own bible class and engage in interactive Bible learning during the Bible Class Hour. You will be asked to sign your children in and out of our nursery for their safety and your peace of mind. Toddlers are given a small snack of animal crackers while in the nursery, so please let us know if your child has food allergies or if you have packed a special snack for them. If your toddler is potty-training we have pint-sized potties in a special, private bathroom attached to the nursery as additional protection for them as they learn this new skill.

Sunshine Village (3 & 4) Sunday Bible Classes

During our morning Sunday Bible Class time, our 3 & 4 year-olds attend Sunshine Village.  In our Preschool ministry, we strive to create the first building blocks of a strong, gospel-centered foundation for our children. We teach from the Scriptures and help parents proclaim to their kids who God is and what He has done in the person and work of Jesus Christ. In Sunshine Village, we sing and teach the Bible to the kids, teaching them the same truths taught in our Gospel Project classes that the adults are taking.

Adventure Zone Nursery (3-5)

We love children and that means our commitment to them is to allow them to be children; wiggly, silly, and little. Adventure Zone is an older kids nursery for 3-5 year olds that allows them to run and play without having to worry about babies getting hurt accidentally. You will be asked to sign your child in and out of Adventure Zone for their safety and your peace of mind. Children generally spend time playing and interacting with one another over our play kitchen, train table, and various other toys like puzzles and coloring. Your child may, at some point during the service, be escorted by our staff to the gym where they can run around in a wide space, and play with basketballs and some large trucks. Once back in the room children are given a small snack of either goldfish, cheerios, or animal crackers, so please let us know if your child has food allergies or if you have packed a special snack for them. While eating their snack we show them a short video about God so they can begin to take their first steps towards knowing and loving Him.

Bible Study

Each week, our elementary and middle school students gather together for a time of worship and Bible teaching followed by small discussion groups.

Elementary & Middle School (K-6th)

The Quest

At The Quest, we work to continue building up a strong, Christ-centered foundation for our children. We do this by teaching our kids about the nature and character of God—that He is wise, generous, loving and good. Our hope is to partner with parents in the discipleship of their children by creating environments, and choosing curriculum and resources that center on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our students meet in small groups, spend time learning about God's Word, and are challenged weekly to have their own personal time with God and memorize Scripture. Our kids love Quest and yours will too!

Led by trained adult leaders,

our weekly groups foster

community, accountability and friendships.

Junior High & High School (7th-12th)

In our Junior High and High School ministry, we seek to keep building gospel maturity in our students and help them grow in deeper relationships with each other, their leaders and, most importantly, the Lord. On a weekly basis, our students meet in small groups that are broken up by age and gender to learn and study God’s Word and to foster biblical community at a young age. Our High School ministry is part of Groups ministry.
