Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Matthew 20:28

Christ-Centered Service

We exist to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ by encouraging and equipping saints to edify one another and to evangelize the lost. This is our mission and process for discipleship. Out of this, gospel-centered service is the overflow of discipleship, serving those in and outside the church. One of the ways we pursue and live out this discipleship trait is through volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers on our Greeting team are some of the first people our attendees come in contact with at weekend services. They serve our church on a scheduled basis. They greet people before services and help people connect with the right classrooms or with an usher for seating.

Volunteers in our Preschool ministry (birth – 5) get the opportunity to shepherd and care for our littlest ones during weekend worship services through singing, playing, and teaching the truth of God’s Word. They check in kids, supervise classrooms  and care for babies and toddlers.

Elementary & Middle School

Volunteers in The Quest minister to our K - 6th graders during Sunday Bible Class through singing with the children, telling stories and teaching the truth of God's Word. They lead group discussions, provide assistance to classroom teachers, and lead worship.

Junior High & High School

Volunteers in our IGNITE ministry get the opportunity to build and foster relationships with students, ministering to them through the teaching of Scripture, worship and intentional discipleship. They check in with students, greet students, set up events, lead small groups and sing or play on the worship team.

FAITH Groups

Leaders and Co-Leaders in Home FAITH Groups lead groups to cultivate Christ-centered community. They oversee groups of 12-15 individuals, develop leaders, encourage non-members toward membership and encourage members to faithfulness, communicate regularly with their oversight and attend leader events.

Volunteers on the Production team keep things running smoothly during our weekend services and at events so that our attendees have a great experience meeting with the Lord and the church. They run the cameras and sound booth during services, work in the production room and put up slides for services.

Volunteers on our Worship team use their gifts and abilities to minister to the church body through the expression of worship to the Lord through music. They lead worship at weekend services and sing or play an instrument in the worship band.

Congregational Care

Volunteers on our Congregational Care team help to coordinate wedding and baby showers for members of the UBC community and also assist with meal coordination for those who may not be connected with a FAITH Group.

Care Ministry

Group Leaders in our Care Ministry undergo special training to be able to facilitate support groups, book studies, and provide coaching for individuals who attend UBC and in our community.
