Caring for the Heart New England
exists to help hurting individuals and couples who have been damaged and need spiritual assistance in resolving their personal, emotional, and spiritual problems. We are available to assist in diagnosing their problems and lead them to find Biblical answers to their problems. For more information or to see our brochure, visit the Caring for the Heart New England page.

Celebrate Recovery:
The Celebrate Recovery group meets at 6:00 P.M. every Friday evening at The Mustard Seed Soup Kitchen (178 Eastern Ave., St. Johnsbury) for coffee, dinner, fellowship, counseling, and music. If you would like to learn more about this group ministry you can find more information on the Celebrate Recovery website at www.celebraterecovery.com

Christian Karate Plus Program:
The Christian Karate Plus Program (CKP) is a ministry of Union Baptist Church and is a chartered member school of the Gospel Martial Arts Union, an international organization governing Christian Martial Arts schools and instructors, recognizing and certifying four levels of instructors. You can find the latest Christian Karate Plus newsletter on the Christian Karate page.

Faith Groups:
The Faith Groups operate as an extension of the church under the guidance of the Elder board and Faith Group leaders. One main function of the Faith groups is to enhance the unity and fellowship and sense of community within the body of Christ.

It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you've lost a spouse, child, family member or friend through death, you've probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. That's the reason for GriefShare, a special seminar and support group for people grieving the death of someone close. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.

Each GriefShare session includes a DVD seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. These DVD's also include on-location DVD and real-life stories of people who have experienced losses like yours.

After viewing the DVD, you'll participate in a small group discussion about what you've seen on the DVD. You'll also have the opportunity to interact with others who have experienced a recent loss, learn about their experiences and have the opportunity to share your own.

There is also the help of a workbook which has an outline of each DVD so you can take notes. It also has daily devotions which will encourage you with scripture during the week.

GriefShare is a nondenominational grief group and features Biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Our next GriefShare session will begin March 5, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the church; watch for a sign up sheet in the church foyer or call the church office, 748-5639. These are thirteen week sessions, and if you are able to give a suggested donation of $15 towards the workbook, it would be appreciated.
