We exist to love God with all that we are in order to love people by guiding them to Jesus Christ.

A disciple is a person who has been rescued into relationship with God through new spiritual birth by trust in the gospel and as a result is growing in a love for God and love for others.

The gospel is that every human being who has ever been born are slaves to sin who would be condemned to an eternity without God if it weren’t for His love and forgiveness. We cannot save ourselves from God’s anger at our sin, but Jesus (being the only perfect God-man who ever lived) died in our place so that we can have a relationship with God free from guilt and fear. We cannot earn our salvation because of how sin has broken our hearts – we’ll always be doing the wrong thing – but Jesus’ death in our place means our record with God can be wiped clean and that all of His good deeds done on earth get credited to our account. If this is confusing to you, we would love to talk more with you about it so you can truly understand what Jesus taught about mankind and about our need for this relationship with God.

We are Christ-centered because He stands at the center of the Gospel, and through Jesus alone we see God the Father most clearly for who He is and what He has done.

"Love God. Love People. Love People to Jesus Christ." At Union Baptist Church, it is the desire of our hearts to be a community that loves and honors God, worships Him, serves Him, and makes Him known to others through acts of love and service. While the name "Baptist" accurately reflects our official theological views as a church body, families from other theological traditions have made UBC their home and bonded with us in our passion for the Truth and our devotedness to one another.

At UBC, the means by which we pursue the glory of God in the making of disciples consists of a passion to "love God with all that we are in order to love people by guiding them to Jesus Christ." We preach and teach the truth of God’s Word in our personal and corporate worship.  We are committed to intentional time in the Word, worship, and prayer. We are resolved to pursue others and to allow others to pursue us. We are intentional with our time and resources. We use our gifts and abilities to serve others. We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever we find ourselves. We are agents of reconciliation and attempt always to bring peace and make disciples. We seek to be light in a dark world. We want God to use us to advance his Kingdom everywhere.

Our longing is that everyone would see the glory and wonder of God displayed in us as we seek to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and servants of one another. No matter where you are in life, we are here to help you take your next step towards the God who made you and loves you.
