As Americans we have kind of a complicated relationship with rest. The encouragement of our passage is, don’t miss out on God’s better rest, the rest that’s held out for us in Jesus Christ. Instead aim for that better rest, labor for that better rest, pursue above all the various kinds of rest that we could pursue in our lives, God’s rest.
